2. Will be in taiwan end of this year, plan to celebrate New year in Taipei. I plan to stay in XiMenTing, will it be too inconvenient to get to Taipei 101 fr there?

Yes, as I said before, there will be lots of free concerts on New Year's eve- almost every city/county will host one. Taipei city will definitely hold one, but I'm not sure where it'll be at. Just ask around, or read the newspapers which will usually mention the various lineups and locations. A good English newspaper in Taiwan is the Taipei Times.

And I'm pretty sure that you can go from the MRT near Ximenting and get close to Taipei 101. Once you get to the MRT station closest to Taipei 101, there will usually be free shuttle buses going to Taipei 101. However since almost everyone will be out on the streets on New Year's I'm not sure how quick you'll be able to get there. But at least the MRT will be open the entire night.

I'm looking at a Canon Powershot SX100IS. I need a camera with a lot of zoom and this one is a 10x optical. What other name brand cameras are good? I have a Kodak right now.

Unless they allow cameras into the venue, you are risking having your camera confiscated and if you resist, being arrested.

I shoot concerts professionally and I use a Nikon D300 with 24-70mm f/2.8 lens (it replaced a Nikon D200 with 24-85mmm f/2.8~4.0 lens)

The thing about concerts is that the stage lighting is VERY good because they light it for shooting video. All a photographer has to do is get a good light meter reading on the stage and then set the camera to that setting in the maual mode.

I want to go to the one in Atlanta but they are sold out and the resellers are double pricing the tickets….

I would really love to go too, but I don’t think I would pay double the amount. I am seeing them in Boston and Charlotte. Have you checked out I Love All Access? They have a pretty good deal on 4* VIP tickets. Hey, if you are going to end up paying more for the regular tickets anyway, you should at least get a little more for your money.

I know there’s a concert in new jersey on August 7th but the bad news it is SOLD OUT! So are there other place that I can see them in New Jersey because I live in New York City?

YOU ARE VERY LUCKY. i cant answer this question directly, since you missed the only NJ concert, i believe. check their space, of course and ticketmaster. but they go to TRL alot and preform and you can get in there if you are 14+ they do signings in all the hot topic stores in cities they play in and NYC has alot of concerts, they go there ALL the time.

We are planning on going to see The Machine, a Pink Floyd tribute band at the Variety in Little 5 Points in Atlanta. What will the security at the door and at the show be like? Will we be patted down?

Will people be, umm….."toasting the boogie" at this concert? Does anybody have a review of the Machine, good or bad?

Ok its called The Variety Playhouse. And the last time I went I saw Perpetual Groove, and they were indeed patting people down and making you empty your pockets. If you need to sneak something in, either put it in your shoes or under your belt line. They probably don't always pat you down, as it probably depends on the concert. You can always walk up front, look at what security is doing at the door, and then get in line. But yea people will most likely be lighting up at a show like that.

I heard The Machine covered Pink Floyd pretty well and have a good lighting show. Ive never seen them but my friend says they put on a good concert. And the Variety Playhouse is a badas$ venue so I'm sure you will have a good time.
