Woodstock: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Dvd Set

Saturday May 30, 2009

Michael Wadleigh’s WOODSTOCK: THREE DAYS OF PEACE & MUSIC finds the best rock stars of the 1960s performing at the historic Woodstock Music and Art Fair, the most celebrated rock concert of all time. Shot over the course of three days in August 1969,…

Released in time for the 40th anninversary of Woodstock, a new 2009 collector’s edition dvd set of the fabled three day concert now includes a 4th disc of unreleased footage with performances from the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish plus three additional featurettes. As well the video and sound have been cleaned up (and re-recorded in some instances, which might make purists cringe) giving the best look and sound of the concert yet. With classic performances from Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Canned Heat, The Who, Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Ten Years After, Sly & The Family Stone, Santana, and many more, presented in a very cool box set, this is certainly one for the collection, especially for lovers of the classic rock era.

Good rock/punk concert for my bff birthday?

Thursday May 28, 2009

Well for my birthday she got me tickets to fall out boy concert and pretty good seats. Now her b day party is coming up in a week and idk what to get her. I wanted to get her concert tickets for Blink 182 (her fave band) but my mom said no they were to expensive. She likes punk and rock music, but not like hard rock like Iron Maiden and not any scremo kinds. ONe the are pretty popular that are like fall out boy, Green Day, BLink 182, stuff like that. or like cobra starship. ANd cheap tickets that are near the Baltimore, Washington D.C. area(even pennsayania)! thanks and in like 2009

take her to the Rancid and Rise Against tour this summer.

Warped Tour is a waste of time if you're looking for a punk/ska show with the exception of maybe Authority Zero, Bad Religion, Big D & The Kids Table, Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly, Streetlight Manifesto, and Thrice.

The rest are scene garbage bands.

Have you bought any new Cd's? Are they classics, old, new, jazz, rock…a mini review is preferable?

Tuesday May 26, 2009

I just bought these:
Roger Waters - "Radio K.A.O.S."
Excellent so far
Def Leppard - "Rock Of Ages The Definitive Collection"
All good performances
Porcupine Tree - "In Absetia"
Great mellow/heavy Progressive Rock really flows
JamGrass - "A Phish Trubute"
If you like folk and bluegrass and have never heard Phish, this is the CD to get. The song selection and sequence flows really nice.
Pink Floyd - "Animals"
Great sonic and lyrical rollercoaster. I had to buy this animal of a CD again 'cause my copy got scratched. Good for me the new remastered version is clearer and louder than the prevoius one.
The Police - "Zenyatta Mondatta"
Classic must have from a great power trio.

NOTE: I don't want any technological news on downloading. I prefer to buy complete CD's to experience them as the artist intended. I'm sorry I can't say the same for most of today's pop/rock music, so I understand why some prefer to go cherry picking favorite songs instead of the whole CD. Peace, music, luv

well, I like buying Cd's and my favorite one now is the:

Blood Brothers "Young Machetes"…..its really good, I don't know how to classify them, cause they can play any genre. You'll think they're really strange in the beginning, but you'll forget it cause' they're really good. Buy it or suffer the joy.

This band isn't pop/rock, listen to them and you'll know.

I am seeing Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, and Street Sweeper in concert. How do they sound?

Thursday May 21, 2009

Does Reznor sound as good as ever, or is his voice getting rusty? I read really good reviews about the NIN/JA tour and mediocre reviews. I just want to know if they sound as good live as they do in the studio.

Thanks.

Follow @rob_sheridan on Twitter. He is about to release some brand new concert audio/video from the current tour.
