Released in time for the 40th anninversary of Woodstock, a new 2009 collector’s edition dvd set of the fabled three day concert now includes a 4th disc of unreleased footage with performances from the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, and Country Joe and the Fish plus three additional featurettes. As well the video and sound have been cleaned up (and re-recorded in some instances, which might make purists cringe) giving the best look and sound of the concert yet. With classic performances from Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Canned Heat, The Who, Richie Havens, Joan Baez, Ten Years After, Sly & The Family Stone, Santana, and many more, presented in a very cool box set, this is certainly one for the collection, especially for lovers of the classic rock era.
